In a rather bizarre fashion, a fan has tipped former Nigerian Striker to become the country’s president In one of his recent posts that showed his charity work. A request that no doubt is due to the captivating influence his Manchester United stint is having on the people of Nigeria.
Although the former Watford striker, who is currently on loan with Manchester United, was quick to shut down this unfashionable request from the fan by posting on twitter in pidgin English fashion asking to be left out of Naija Wahala or politics, that his desire and focus is on Manchester United
its still worth reporting because it’s only a pointer to the good works Ighalo has been doing since arriving Manchester which is a thing of pride to countless Nigerians. With a troubled economy and the poor leadership of a nation dubbed the most populous in Africa, its no surprise that someone would rather have the mantle of presidency vested on a footballer. Since he is leading well from the top as a striker, he can perhaps lead the nation even better from up top the seat as the president.
Well, should Odion Ighalo finally succumb to this rather hilarious request, he would become only the second African footballer to become his country’s leader after Liberia’s George Weah.
